Dad, I cannot believe we are here once again, another year has gone by since that day on 19 June 2006, but in so many ways, it feels like yesterday that we received that phone call from home as we could not see you one last time, however, in so many other ways, it feels like forever ago since we heard your voice and in your presence, and I cannot believe that it has been 17 years since we lost you

Dad, we are marking the 17th anniversary of your passing today, and it is a day filled with a mixture of emotions, as I not only remember the sad loss we experienced all those years ago, but I also recall that almost at the same time, you gifted us the immense joy of having the past 16 happy and unforgettable years with my dearest darling Ma together here in the UK, who meant the whole world to us all

Dad, on your 17th anniversary, I am filled with memories of you, who were both loving and strict, but above all, deeply devoted to your family, as you had a strong sense of discipline and expected nothing but the best from us, at times your strictness seemed overwhelming, but deep down, I always knew you had our best interests at heart, it came from a place of deep love and a desire for us to succeed

Dad, as I am reflecting on your loving memory, my bleeding heart is also carrying the fresh pain of losing my beautiful Ma, so unexpectedly and so suddenly, only 258 days ago on 04 October 2022, she was the gentle force that softened your stern demeanour, her kindness and warmth brought a balance to our lives, thereby, her departure was such a shock to us, in which shook our entire family to its core

Dad, as we are honouring your 17th anniversary, and remembering both you and Ma, I am reminded of the fragility and the preciousness of life, and the significance of treasuring and cherishing our loved ones, while they are still with us, because time slips away too quickly, henceforth, the awful loss of you both, has taught me to make the most of each and every moment we have with those we hold dear

Dad, on this solemn anniversary, the wound and the grief of the devastating loss of my Ma, are still raw for us, but in this moment of reflection, I take solace in the safe knowledge that you and Ma are finally together once again after 16 years apart, your souls are intertwined in eternal harmony, you are forever reunited in eternal love, and your memories will always live on, in our hearts, until we meet again
