One Month Without My Mum

The cliche goes that
you do not really become an adult
until you lose both your parents

04 October 2022

was the most heartbreaking day of all

as in the early hours of the morning

we got that dreadful call

and I wanted to wake you

for I thought you were asleep

The biggest hurt of all is

our hearts were broken

without a warning

no words spoken

you were gone before we knew it

How long will this lonesome road last?

How much can our broken hearts bear?

We have been lost in this deep sorrow

from this painful grief

so standing stricken

so remembering you - Ma

I am a motherless daughter and an adult orphan, who loves passionately and grieves intensely, as I write and share about my personal grief journey with others, after I lost my darling Mum on 04 October 2022

to major stroke so suddely and so unexpectedly, with the hope that it might comfort, help and inspire people on their own journey.

we once shared "

A smile and a wave
you were loved by all

In the midst of mourning of

my darling Mum’s unexpected and sudden passing

I found comfort in the written word

the paper absorbed my tears and the pen

became the companion to my grief-stricken heart

the emotions, too overwhelming for spoken language

found refuge in the silent conversation between ink and paper "
