The Longest Vacation

My mum's darling mum’s departure not as an end
but as the beginning of her longest vacation
a celestial odyssey after a lifetime of devotion and sacrifice

My cherished mum is now on the longest vacation
a well-deserved respite, a divine and restful holiday
that offers her the eternal tranquillity she deserves
after a lifetime of commitment, devotion, sacrifice
since she gave her very best to us all without rest
through the years and days, the right and the wrong
her tireless journey of life, finally, a sweet release

My beautiful mum's love for us was unparalleled
she selflessly gave us her time, energy, and support
unfalteringly nurtured, guided, and provided care
to ensure her children and her family's well-being
without expecting anything in return from anyone
just as she always put others' needs before her own
often at the expense of her own comfort and desires

My precious mum was the backbone of our family
her dedication to everyone went beyond the ordinary
her devotion to us was an enduring source of stability
her sacrifice to her family was a lifelong commitment
from those sleepless nights with a crying sick child
to the unrelenting efforts to create a loving home
as it was seen in the wisdom she imparted on us all

My darling mum on the longest vacation she ever taken
a vacation that will last for eternity, a well-earned rest
free from the burdens and challenges of her earthly life
we are now celebrating her remarkable and unique life
and recognising her boundless love was without equal
her sacrifices was so very deep, both seen and unseen
she left a lasting legacy of values, integrity, and empathy

I am a motherless daughter and an adult orphan, who loves passionately and grieves intensely, as I write and share about my personal grief journey with others, after I lost my darling Mum on 04 October 2022

to major stroke so suddely and so unexpectedly, with the hope that it might comfort, help and inspire people on their own journey.

you were loved by all

In the midst of mourning of

my darling Mum’s unexpected and sudden passing

I found comfort in the written word

the paper absorbed my tears and the pen

became the companion to my grief-stricken heart

the emotions, too overwhelming for spoken language

found refuge in the silent conversation between ink and paper "
