Philip: A Son-in-Love
Mum would be grateful, beyond words, for the way Philip has become
my refuge, my protector, my safe place to land, just as she once was

There are relationships that surpass the ordinary
connections that weave souls together in
a dance of respect, and unwavering devotion
my husband, Philip, was more than a son-in-law
to my Mum, he became her son-in-love
a title that speaks to the depth of their bond
a love that needed no blood ties to flourish
When she fulfilled her sacred duty to my Dad
what we did not realise then was that a moment
would redefine the very fabric of our family
in that moment, she did not just gain a new home
she gained a third child, a second son in Philip
and he was gifted with the rare fortune of having
the unparalleled love of two beautiful mothers
From the very beginning, they defied the
language barriers, words were never necessary
as their hearts understood each other perfectly
they were a force of joy, a pair of radiant souls
wherever we went, whether it was a casual walk
or a long journey, he would always hold her hand
guiding her with the same gentle care he gives to me
I know, without a doubt, that she would be
immensely proud and grateful for the way he
has held me in her absence, she would see, as I do
the purity of his love, she would smile knowing
that in him, I have a partner who loves me in
every moment, just as she once did, above all
a love so profound that even in grief, I find solace

I am a motherless daughter and an adult orphan, who loves passionately and grieves intensely, as I write and share about my personal grief journey with others, after I lost my darling Mum on 04 October 2022
to major stroke so suddely and so unexpectedly, with the hope that it might comfort, help and inspire people on their own journey.
"Mum, I carry your strength
with every step I take
on this new path "
